May 31, Th - Went to see Jennifer in the morning before going to work at 7:30 AM.  I got Infant EEG Cap. to see her for a bit, but at 8:05 she was taken for an EEG - she seemed sleepy.  Got to work at about 9:00 AM.  Jo called me at work to say that Dr. Cromer called her to set up a meeting between herself, Dr. King, a new resident, and us.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss Jennifer's future treatment.   I called father John at Metro to ask him about Baptism for Jennifer.  He suggested that we wait, and only call him in case of an emergency.  He said that using the Holy Water from Lourdes would be ok, but we decided to wait and let him use it when the time came.  I asked father John to use the name Jennifer Lynn Marie for Baptismal purposes.  Father John told me that the hospital informs him of infants that are critical, and since Jennifer was not on his list, we need not be concerned at this point in time.

I left work at 3:30 PM for Metro.  I met Jo and her mom there.  Jennifer was still sleepy.  Wt - 2990 / RR - 30-40 / HR - 100-110 / 02 - 23%.  She still has a lot of mucus, but she had no low hearts today.  We had our meeting with Dr. King, Dr. Cromer, and the new resident Dr. Barrett (Beeper - 475).  The results of the EEG came back as normal.  A culture was taken from Jennifer's lungs - the results will not be known for months. CAT Scan Unit.  She is also supposed to be taken for a CAT scan on Monday June 4 at Cleveland Clinic - but it never happened, and we were never told why.  At this point the doctors feel that they do not know just what Jennifer's problem is, and that the best course to follow is to let her rest and regain her strength - I had been saying that all along.  She will be fed orally once her respirations are better.

Jun   1,  F - Went to Metro before work to see Jennifer.  She was awake, and seemed to be doing better.  I held her for a while as the nurse changed her bed.  Her right hand's sloughing area seems inflamed.  I got to work about 8:45 AM.  I asked Sue to get me in contact with OBT's Counseling Dept.  I spent about two and a half hours talking on the phone with OBT's corporate nurse Phyllis Bullock.  (822-2273).  I let both Sue and Phyllis know that I need help.  After work we went to see Jennifer with mom.  Wt - 2900 / RR - 40-50 / HR - 110-120.   She still has a lot of thick mucus.  She seems alert, but her eyes seem to pulsate, and not look at any object.

Jun   2, Sa - Me holding Jennifer. Jo holding Jennifer. I called Metro in the morning, and mentioned last night's pulsating eye movements to the nurse on duty - she said she would make note of it.  We went to see Jennifer later in the day - she seemed very active.  Wt - 2950 / RR - 80-90 / HR - 110-120.  The slough area is still there.  Both Jo and I took pictures of each of us holding Jennifer.  After we left, we came back again in the evening.

Jun   3, Su - Called the NICU in the morning about Jennifer.  They had not weighed her as yet.  Later we went to see Jennifer - she seemed sleepy.  When we got there, she was in the treatment room.  Her deep vein I/V had started to leak, and had to be removed.  A new regular I/V had been put in her scalp.  We went back to visit Jennifer again about 5:10 PM.  They did not weigh her at all today.  Her I/V is still in her scalp.  HR - 100-110 / RR - 40-50.  Not too much mucus.  Gene said that he visited Jennifer yesterday.  Today was Craig's Baptism, and Jo and I went.
