| May 27, Su - | We went to see Jennifer from 6:30 to 8:00 PM. Wt - 3080 / 02 -
25% / RR - 80-100 / HR - 120-130. She had one incident of turning blue while we were there. Jennifer
now has an I/V in her stomach area as well as one in her head. The nurse said that one of them is for the
purpose of drawing blood-gas samples. We talked with the nurse for a bit. Jennifer's left arm where
the deep vein I/V was does not seem to be healing, and it looks a bit infected. The nurse put some
ointment on it. Jennifer is still on antibiotics. She also still has some thrush. Her right arm
pit has a rash. The I/V infusion site on her right arm is still deep purple and the size of a quarter, and
it is starting to slough off. Her mucus secretions seem to be clearing up. The isolette temp is down
a bit, and so is Jennifer's - about 1 C. Marcia and Sandy dropped by to see Jennifer after visiting Karen
who had just recently had her baby at Metro. We went home. Later at about 2:30 AM, I called the NICU
again to check on Jennifer's condition.

| May 28, M - |
Memorial Day. We went to see Jennifer. Wt - 3100 / RR - 80's / HR -
120-130 (some low hearts)
/ 02 - 24% (hood off of isolette). Her mucus seems to be clearing
up. We left for a while, and came back again in the evening. Dr. Cromer had me sign a permit for
Jennifer to have another deep vein I/V inserted. This time into her right arm. Jennifer is supposed
to have an Encephalogram done tomorrow.

| May 29, Tu - | Called the NICU from work several times to check on Jennifer's
condition. Called Dr. Unis's office at Metro - his secretary suggested that I call a Dr. Boat at
Rainbow (444-3800), because Dr. Unis is too busy. We went to see Jennifer with mom & dad. The
doctors had just finished putting in Jennifer's deep vein I/V into her right arm. I talked with the
surgeon who performed the 'cut-down', and also the doctor on duty that evening. They had X-rays taken
of the I/V's location - the first set were not good, and had to be redone. The nurses were having
problems with Jennifer's monitors, but they got them fixed. Jennifer had some low hearts during the
day, but she seems ok now. Wt - 3060 / O2 - 23% / RR 40-60 / HR - 105-130. She does not seem
to be too congested, but a lot is being suctioned. We were there from 6:15 to 8:00 PM. After we
got home, I called St. Rose Parish to ask some questions as to how Jennifer should be baptized.
They referred me to a Rev. John Schniegenberg at Metro (781-8260). I will call him tomorrow.

| May 30, F - | Louise Gorman gave me some Holy water. On my walk at Edgewater Park, I
talked to a Mounted Policeman about his family and about Jennifer.
We stopped at the Robinson's
who gave us some Holy Water from Lourdes. We then went to Metro to see Jennifer. She
was sleeping, but seemed ok. Wt - 3000 / RR - 50-70 / HR - 110-120 / Temp - 36.6. The deep vein I/V
in her right arm is being held in place with a splint covered with gauze. She also has a splint on her left
arm to keep it from flexing so that the old deep vein I/V incision has a chance to heal better. Supposedly
the sloughing area on her right arm is getting better. Jennifer was laying on her stomach - she can move her
head from side to side by herself - a good sign. When I looked at the chart, it said something about an error
on the I/V implant. Later in the evening after we had left, Jo called the NICU. They said that the I/V
had to be pulled back a bit.
