| May 16, W - | Went to see Jennifer in evening. The neurologist was there.
He was talking to Dr. Cromer. I was able to hear what was being said, because I was standing right
there. Dr. Cromer told me that Dr. King wanted to talk to me, and that I should call her right away at home.
When I called Dr. King at home as Dr. Cromer suggested, Dr. King seemed surprised to hear from me.
When I got back to where Dr. Cromer and the neurologist had been, they were no longer there, but in another room.
When the neurologist came out, he said that Jennifer seemed ok to him. I'm not sure of his name.
The CAT Scan and the EEG were cancelled due to Jennifer's low hearts - she seems ok now in room 2. Dr.
Cromer had me sign a form authorizing Jennifer to have a " cut-down " for the purpose of having an I/V inserted
directly into her vein. Dr. Cromer said that it was necessary because Jennifer could not maintain her normal
surface I/V's. Dr. Cromer said that the procedure would only require a nick that would be closed with one
stitch. It would be inserted through her neck into a vain and pushed near her heart. Dr. Cromer said
that the procedure was not dangerous, and that the new I/V could stay in place for months if need be. She
also said that there would be little chance of infection. Wt 2915 (6# 8 Oz).

| May 17, Th - | Called the NICU from work to check on Jennifer's condition. O2 -
24% / Wt - (6# 7 Oz). After work we went to see Jennifer with both grandmas and dad. She seems better
again. The tear in her throat's lining seems better - the doctors looked at it via an endoscopy. The
deep vain I/V will be inserted tomorrow. Took Jo's mom home.

| May 18, F - | Called the NICU about Jennifer from work. Jennifer was due to have
the deep vain I/V inserted today. When I talked with Dr. Cromer on the phone, she said that the I/V was
inserted ok, but that Jennifer was having some problems with her arm getting discolored due to the I/V's constriction
- left arm. She then ended our conversation. I became concerned, because I could not understand how an
I/V inserted through the neck could cause an arm to discolor; thus, I left work at noon to go to Metro to see what the
problem was. When I got there, I saw that the I/Y was not inserted through her neck as Dr. Cromer had said, but
through her left arm just above the elbow, and pushed near to the right side of her heart according to the doctors.
Dr. Cromer never bothered to tell me that the site was changed until I actually saw for myself. She now
also says that there is a slight chance for infection. I went back to work. After work, we went to see
Jennifer w/mom. Jennifer seems ok, but she still has a lot of mucus. Wt - 3000. Talked with Dr.
King, and told her that we had a lot of questions, and that we would like to have a meeting to discuss them with her.
She suggested that we meet on Monday May 21 at 4:30 PM. We then went home. Pete and Penny dropped over
with the kids for a while.

| May 19, Sa - | Jennifer is one month old today. We went to see her at Metro - she
seemed ok, but when Jo got to hold her, Jennifer turned blue. She was given a bit of O2 and put back into the
isolette. Afterwards, her heart monitor went off several times - as low as zero at times. The nurse said
not to worry about it, that the problem was due to poor functioning of the pick-ups because of her blankets.
They are starting to wean Jennifer out of the isolette and into a crib. Both Drs. King and Cromer were there
today. I reminded Dr. King that I would have a lot of questions at our scheduled meeting this coming Monday.
We left for a while, and came back again in the evening. Jennifer seemed ok, but her temp was on the low
side (36.20) and she had a lot of thick white mucus. Wt - 2970 gm.
